• HOW CADETS ARE CHOSEN

    The joint CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and CityJet assessment and selection process will proceed in three stages as follows:

    Those applicants whose initial application is considered successful will be invited to attend for Stage 2 of the formal Selection process as detailed below.

    SKILLS ASSESSMENT & SELECTION

    The assessment process is intended to identify individuals that both CAE Oxford Aviation Academy and CityJet consider to have the necessary skills, aptitude, personal characteristics and qualities to succeed in airline pilot training and then into a flying career with CityJet.

    Candidates can choose to book assessment in Oxford, UK or Dublin, Ireland (limited spaces).

    STAGE 1 - ONLINE APPLICATION

    CAE OAA assessors will review all candidate applications to assess whether they successfully meet the criteria for CityJet Climb High Mentored Programme. Successful candidates through this phase will be invited to Oxford or Dublin to complete an assessment day.

    SELECTION STAGE 2 - ASSESSMENT DAY

    Stage 2 of assessment, conducted by CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, will take place over half a day at London Oxford Airport or Brussels and will include:

    • Computer Based Testing (ADAPT):
      • Advanced Cognitive Test
      • FAST
      • Aviation Knowledge Test
      • CRM Questionnaire
      • Conflict Management Questionnaire
      • Advanced PQ (Personality Questionnaire)
       

    SELECTION STAGE 3

    Stage 3 of assessment, conducted by CAE Oxford Aviation Academy, will take place over one day in Dublin and will include:

    • Group exercise
    • Personal interview

    STAGE 4 - FINAL INTERVIEW

    The final stage will be an interview conducted solely by CityJet in Dublin.
